This is the page for my greenrider Jessilee. I wasn't going to make any more characters, since I already had nine at Storm Fires Weyr, but the BoD at Storm Fires decided that they wished to expand, so they created a second Weyr on the continent, called Rising Dawn Weyr. Since I was only moving three of my characters over to Rising Dawn, I figured it would be safe to create a few more, and Jessilee, Kiandra, and A'drov were the ones that I created, along with an NPC that is attached to Kiandra named Nial.

Jessilee started out at age 18 and had just made Journeyman rank when I introduced her. She was a Journeywoman Healer and not a candidate at all, but she was on the sands helping out an injured candidate when Alialith found her on the sands on April 2nd, 2005. She was born and raised at Storm Fires Hold before it was even declared a Hold, and her mother is named Jiana while her father is called Sessil. Jessilee was an only child.

Jessilee has always been a very practical girl who for the most part sits back and observes the interactions of those around her in a calm and amused fashion, interjecting her advice when asked for it, but not trying to force anyone to take it if they don't want to, so it almost always comes with a disclaimer. She was surprised at first when people other than her friends actually wanted to interact with HER because she was used to being overlooked and was sometimes unsure of how to act with new people. She has always been a rather studious person who was first dedicated to her Healing and then to Alialith.

She is a very petite figure at 5'5" tall with a curvaceous figure and blond locks of hair that fall down to the tops of her ears now that she is a dragonrider. Her dark blue eyes remind those who know her well of sapphires, because they can appear anywhere from black to a brilliant blue depending upon the light. She prefers dark blues and dark greens with a smattering of lighter colors thrown in occasionally when she is in the mood.

While she was growing up, Jessilee was always a quiet child, and when she was eight she became friends with a girl named Dierna. The two remained fast friends throughout their childhoods, although Dierna was the daughter of traders and would occasionally go out with her parents on runs, for the most part she ended up staying with her Aunt at Storm Fires Hold. The traders preferred to keep their daughter at the Hold when possible, because they wanted her to be able to get her education and possibly find a husband when she got older.

As they grew older and both girls matured, boys began to get interested in Dierna. Jessilee was not a bad looking girl, but Dierna had that beauty that turned heads to her and earned her many dates. Sometimes Jessilee felt invisible when standing next to her friend, and she mostly had nothing to do with boys, instead watching Dierna in her relationships. She met a new friend named Kiandra who was apprenticed to be a baker, and when Dierna was off busy with her boyfriends, the two had things to talk about, so Jessilee didn't feel lonely or left out when Dierna was off with the boys. She was surprised at age 14 when a boy named Jial actually approached her and started flirting, but he was only using her to try and become friends with Dierna so that he could ask her out, as Jessilee learned painfully. Dierna went out with Jial for a while, but left him like she did with all of the boys eventually.

Kiandra's boyfriend Nial was friends with Jial, so despite the fact that it still hurt to be around him, Jial was now a part of Jessilee's circle of friends. After a while, she learned to let go of her hurt and it didn't bother her so much. Nial also brought another friend to the group named Tarel, a dark-natured lad who had a very disturbed past. Jial brought a friend to the group as well named Androv who Impressed by accident at the same Hatching that Jessilee Impressed at.

When Jessilee turned 16, Androv asked her out, and she accepted the offer. She knew at the time that she didn't love him in the right way, but she thought that perhaps with time she could come to love him as more than a brother. This attempt failed miserably and she began to have nightmares in which she was trapped by the relationship and barred from true happiness. Realizing that she couldn't continue the farce or that she would begin losing sleep at night, Jessilee reluctantly broke off the relationship with Androv, breaking his heart and feeling incredibly guilty in the process. It was at that point that she decided that she would never again enter a relationship unless she had the proper feelings before she went into it, since love obviously couldn't be forced. She never wanted to hurt someone like she had done with Androv again.

About half a Turn later, Tarel decided that he liked Dierna. He asked Jessilee for her opinion on whether or not he should ask her out, and Jessilee answered honestly that she didn't think it would be a good idea because Tarel had never given any indications that he liked Dierna before this and Dierna had never looked at Tarel in that light. She advised him that he would end up like the rest of Dierna's boyfriends because Dierna didn't have the heart to say no to a guy to his face. So she would go out with Tarel for a sevenday and then dump him, usually with a letter that she had either Jessilee or Kiandra deliver for her. Tarel's response was that at least he'd have that sevenday, and Jessilee didn't push the matter since all she'd done was offer her advice.

Tarel asked Dierna to the Gather with the intention of asking her to go out with him at it, but Dierna found a boy that she liked right after Tarel asked her. (Jessilee isn't sure, but she thinks that Dierna latched onto the new boy, Liand, because she didn't want to go out with Tarel and needed an excuse to tell him no when he asked, but she's never said this out loud.) Tarel reacted badly to this new challenge, and told Liand that he could take Dierna to the gather, a fact that infuriated Dierna because she felt that she'd been treated like an object instead of a person. When Jessilee managed to get Tarel to calm down, he told Liand that he hadn't meant it and asked if he could still take Dierna to the Gather. Liand's answer was to tell Tarel to ask Dierna, who managed to say no. So an embittered Tarel made snide comments to Dierna for the next Turn, even after she eventually broke up with Liand.

Liand became very depressed when Dierna left him, because he had no friends, and he tried to commit suicide, and Jessilee had to nurse him back to health. She convinced Liand that he did have friends, and could hang out with her group of friends if he would just accept that Dierna did not care for him as a boyfriend and maintain simple friendly relations with her. Liand was able to do this, but it infuriated Tarel, who had been the underlying cause for Liand's depression and had wanted to see Liand die. Tarel blamed Jessilee for Liand's return to a healthy functioning individual and while yelling at her revealed that he liked her even as he accused her of liking Liand. Jessilee did not like Liand, and she was nonplussed by Tarel's behavior, and when his venomous comments turned toward her, it ruined his already non-existent chances with her completely. As a result, Tarel began stalking her.

Journeyman announcements came out, and Jessilee, Androv, Jial, Kiandra, and Nial all made Journeyman. Tarel didn't make Journeyman because he is a Turn younger than all of his friends, but he of course didn't see it that way. He confronted Jessilee in her room, much to her surprise, and with some heated words, he backhanded her. She ordered him out of her room and told him of her intentions to apply for a transfer.

The next day, her Master informed Jessilee that she was being stationed at Rising Dawn Weyr because of her skill with burn patients, and that she could bring along any friends that wished to accompany her because the Weyr needed skilled craftsmen. Jessilee asked her friends, and Kiandra and Nial accepted the offer and were approved to come along as well.

Not too long after they arrived at Rising Dawn Weyr, Kiandra was Searched, and Jessilee was happy for her friend as she watched Kiandra Impress a green named Cariath on November 26th, 2004. She was watching her second Hatching from the stands April 2nd, 2005, when a boy was injured by a dragonet and she rushed out onto the sands to help him. She had just finished when she was bumped from behind by a green dragonet named Alialith who she then turned around and Impressed, which was quite a shock to her. The shock was compounded a moment later when she witnessed her friend Androv Impress a brown dragonet named Kionoth from the sidelines.

In the beginning, she was a little confused about her place in life. She'd already arranged things the way that she'd wanted them, and being a dragonrider had seemed beyond the realm of the practical, so it hadn't even entered into her calculations on what she could do with her life. She felt guilty for leaving the Healers shorthanded, even though they quickly replaced her, but she was still uncertain for a while about all of the things that she had to give up in order to be with Alialith. Not that she would have given up her green even if she could have, but she was a little disoriented when it came to how she should feel about this change.

To make matters even more complicated, A'drov was still in love with her, and began to make his interest a little more plain. Jessilee had thought about how to break this fixation that he had, but was afraid that to do so she'd have to do something really mean to him, and she wasn't willing to lose a friend. Not to mention that she didn't want to hurt his feelings when they were in the same weyrling class together and had to work together every day. So until their training was finished, she pretended not to see his advances and they managed to maintain their friendly relationship.

Once they graduated and Alialith had her first flight, it became plain to A'drov that she was not interested in him as Jessilee turned to C'don to help her out during the flight, spurning A'drov's offer of assistance. He moped for a bit, but got over it and moved to Rising Dawn to be with his family and friend Minerva, who eventually became something more to him, much to Jessilee's relief.

Jessilee, meanwhile, had her own things to think about, such as finding a stand-in for Alialith's flights. For a while, C'don was her stand-in, which worked just fine since his Rudyeanth would catch Alialith during her flights, but after a while, C'don found the love of his life Kylia and they weyrmated, and so Jessilee had to find someone else to help her out. She asked R'lon and was surprised to find that they had a lot of chemistry working for them. They started dating and eventually they became weyrmates as well. So she lives happily with R'lon and Alialith, and will soon have a new addition to the family in the form of their first child, a son whom they will name Viassilon.
